Dear ADVANCE Professors and Associate Deans,
I would appreciate it if you could forward this invitation to your female faculty regarding a special luncheon that has been organized with Dr. Dianne Chong, formerly with Boeing, on Thursday, April 14 at 11:30 in the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center. The purpose of the luncheon is to give mid-career female faculty the opportunity to talk to someone like Dr. Chong who has had experience at many different levels and has served on advisory roles at other universities. Dr. Chong is visiting Georgia Tech on April 13 and 14 and will be delivering a lecture entitled “Innovative Careers” and also host a luncheon with graduate students and post docs on April 13. All of these events are being sponsored by the Clare Boothe Luce Program at Georgia Tech, which is one of the programs I developed and received funding for while working in my part time appointment with Institute Diversity. A flyer summarizing all of the events with Dr. Chong is attached.
If interested they can sign up to attend the faculty luncheon on April 14 by going to
http://diversity.gatech.edu/2016-clare-boothe-luce-faculty-lunch-april-14-dianne-chong
This event will be limited to the first 20-25 registrants and is limited to female faculty
If they plan to attend the lecture on April 13, they can RSVP at
http://diversity.gatech.edu/2016-clare-boothe-luce-lecture
Campus wide invitations for the lecture will be sent out later on. The Clary Theatre has capacity for 200 so everyone will be invited.
Additionally, I am also attaching a second flyer summarizing all of the CBL sponsored luncheons for graduate students and post docs. Please feel free to forward to your female grad students and post docs. They have already been invited separately but I would appreciate it if you make them aware of this unique opportunity for them to interact with four highly accomplished women.
Thanks in advance!
Rosario Gerhardt
