What may be your thoughts on opt out/opt in on accommodations to the tenure timeline related to COVID?

ADVANCE Professors: 1. Opt Out: give everyone an automatic extension as the default. This means that they can opt out and go up at their normal time (no extra paperwork to opt out, they just submit their paperwork at the normal time). If they want to use the year, they just apply for tenure a year later (again, no additional paperwork). 2. Opt In: allow everyone to request a year extension. This would be more targeted, giving an extension only to those who need it. The requests would be liberally approved.
